Named after the .38 Special bullet made by Smith and Wesson, Thirty-Eight Special has been a southern rock group playing since 1975. They have had a few big chart toping hits during the 80's.
Thirty-Eight Special was founded by Donnie Van Zant and Don Barnes. Donnie is the younger brother of Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd fame.
